Ni Juni – BUSINESS BUSINESS BUSINESS!!!
December 1, 2008
EWBO Design is currently working on a redesign of two sites. The client is a radio personality that hosts two nationally syndecated shows. One show is a DIY home improvement show geared primarily towards females called Ask Andrea. The other show is called Energize Green, and it focuses on environmentally sound energy saving practices at home. This is an exciting opportunity for future leads and portfolio material. One site is on its way to finished land, while the other design is almost done. I can’t wait to finish and as soon as we do, I will post links to the sites. Until then wish us the best.
Ni Ju – Falling For That Certain Someone
November 23, 2008
and that certain someone is rollerblading. I’ve been rollerblading, aggressive inlining, rolling, aggressive skating, whatever you want to call it for about 8 years. About a month ago, I started feeling like I was slowing down, possibly because of sleeping habits or possibly because of something else. Anyway, I felt stuck, like I had reached a plateau that was difficult to escape. That is until my friend gave me some small boot versions of my current skate brand preference, I usually used the large boot. With these small ones I suddenly feel quick and nimble and it just feels so awesome! I want to tour skateparks again and I KNOW now I can escape this plateau. So this post is just about documenting this epiphany. Realizing that I can keep doing what I love, and expand on my skills. Just to make this post more interesting I will post my most recent youtube edit.
Ju Kyu – Classes UTD Should Invest In and Why
November 17, 2008
Here is a list of classes UTD should invest in for the ATEC or EMAC curriculum:
1. Typography – Why? Because to have a well rounded grasp on design, be it web, print, game, anything, you must have a grasp on typography. It’s important!
2. Adobe CS program specific classes (including advanced secondary classes) – Why? Because it is an industry standard in all kinds of design, and for some reason UTD assumes students have an existing grasp on these skills, which most do not.
3. Web Language Specific classes – Why? Because students being told they can learn web design through ATEC are being taught java, which though may possibly be useful in a fairly indirect way, is not the same thing as learning HTML or CSS. These would be much more useful to students investing in the ATEC degree and wanting to learn web design.
Ju Shi – Starting A Web/Branding Design Company
October 27, 2008
So my friend and I are talking about starting a web design and development/branding and identity design solutions company. I would be doing most of the designing, and he would be doing the development and programming. I think it would be an interesting, and possibly lucrative endeavour. It would be a nice supplement to my income right now, and it would give me good solid experience in dealing with customers and different design problems. The only issue we are running into is figuring out how to get our name out there without using gobs of money on advertising. Would we just hand out our business cards to everyone we see and hope they all own a small business and need web or branding solutions? I don’t know. That seems like a silly way to do things, but it would be free. lol We could attend new small business owner meetings, but would these new small business owners have the money for our services? Perhaps. In any case the name we have decided on thus far for our business is EWBO “Creative Solutions Duo”. EWBO stands for Everything Will Be Ok. I thought this would be a kool kind of trademark for us. If your small business needs web or branding design solutions, we can give you those solutions and Everything Will Be Ok. I thought it would be kind of a comfort to people we are working with. The logo is pretty much done and we have a site concept as well. I will post the site concept (which has the logo) under all of this. If any of you people out there can think of a good cheap or free way of getting our name out to small businesses please let me know. It would be endlessly appreciated.

Hachi – Aspiration
October 6, 2008
This is going to be short and sweet.
Do you have something you love to do? Do you wish you could do it forever? (by this I don’t mean drink or do drugs or any of that. Those habits can only stand in the way of one’s aspirations)
Well if you said yes, I have a message for you. Go for it. Do it. You may say, “I can’t. I don’t have money.” or “I’ve already missed too many years of school.” These answers are nothing but excuses. Get a job, get some loans, and go to school for what you want to do, then get out there and do it. It’s that easy and that hard. If you really want something, get it. If you aspire to be anything, a forensic scientist, a pro-football player, a stock broker, or anything, go to school and do it. There is nothing, but yourself to stop you. If your lazy, nothing will happen. If you believe in yourself and work hard, something will most likely happen for you. I know this is cheezy and uncool and silly, but excuse my French and Fuck all of that. If you aspire to do something, then DO IT. It’s that easy and that hard.
A message for life from someone who is working to make real his aspirations.
Shichi – Improving My Craft (a rant)
October 5, 2008
I’m at a point right now where every time I sit down to create, and really put time and effort into it, my design and composition skills seem to improve. This is encouraging, but then I look at where I could be, and in my mind should be, and I get frustrated. I feel like I should be improving faster, and I don’t sit back and appreciate where I’ve gotten. I want so badly to be at a point right this minute where I could send my portfolio to a firm like Pentagram, and they would at least consider me. And maybe they would, but I sincerely doubt it. I just need to appreciate my accomplishments, however small, and realize that each little improvement helps me become the designer I want to be in the future. I need to use these improvements to push myself farther on my next project. I need to challenge myself every time to do something different, so that by the time I get out of school, I will have a well rounded portfolio, and be prepared for as many design solutions as possible. I also need to solicit more projects. I’m getting valuable experience working with one company and expanding it’s brand, but I really should be taking on other projects as well. So that’s what I’m going to do; I’m going to push myself harder to improve my work and get more projects. If your reading this and need a designer, check out my portfolio in my who am i section. I’m hungry for design challenges, and want to prove myself as a competent designer.

Second post ever.
So this morning on my way to work I almost was involved in a serious life changing accident. lol
That lol is like a nervous wow that was intensely crazy lol
It all started with a large dodge truck tailgating me out of nowhere heavily. I mean like 3 or 4 feet away heavily. So, being conscious of the fact, I tapped my breaks on his inconsiderate hiny. This action, apparently unprovoked in the driver’s eyes, made him speed uncomfortably close past me in the break down lane to my left (I was in the far left lane), and cut in front of me. Not only did he cut in front of me, but he miscalculated in his rage and his rear bumper nicked the front left of my car, nearly sending me uncontrollably into the adjacent lanes. He then proceeded to flip me off, and quickly maneuver out of view, cutting off more cars than I have fingers, seemingly to escape without anyone seeing his plates. Now, I was a little rattled and shaken for a few minutes, but then I realized something after that brush with death. I realized that the reality of this world is that there are people who do things like that. People who think they can push other people around, and people that are crazy or have a skewed sense of respect. People who think that they are above the law, or being courteous, and people who are genuinely douche bags. These people actually exist, and this is a fact we have to live with. But, we don’t have to accept these people’s actions. It shouldn’t be ok to let those people walk all over you. That’s why I’ve decided that I will not stop tapping my breaks on people who tail gate, which in my mind would be what most people would do after having such a crazy experience. I though, refuse to do so. I will not let those kinds of people walk over me, or make me fearful. And, even at the expense of my own life I will not allow those people to continue encouraging a world where that kind of behavior is allowed. Don’t let people walk over you. Everyone has the right to exist on this planet without douche bags interfering. Exercise your right!
Now a word for the quick to conclusion. I’m only saying to not allow unprovoked douche bag actions. If you were a douche bag first, and deserve the retaliation then you should accept the consequences which you brought upon yourself.

So this is my first blog post, and on this special occasion I will bore all of you with a poem. This poem will probably only be slightly coherent so enjoy with your own perspective.
In accordance with one’s own feelings,
I feel it prudent to ask that man who is attempting to gain chaotic control,
to desist in his efforts,
for nothing will come from an ill-experienced visionary with no specific goals,
accept the banter of an ignorant man,
the irresponsible squawking of a bird whose beak is filled,
with unrealistic and untested ideas,
from which disaster is almost certain to come,
this is not negativity but logic from which most success is attributed,
those who seek to put the bird in power,
will hopefully never get to regret their mistake.
A poem about today for no reason, or maybe not a poem, but a rant.
Idk
Have a good day.
